omg. ben folds is coming. i know you probably don't care (heathen), but if you ever have the chance to see ben folds play live, i completely urge you to take advantage of the opportunity. he's amazing live. you'll feel great.
the first time i saw him was in 99 (kool haus) and no one would go with me, so i went by myself. definitely one of the more memorable experiences of that year for me. train opened (VOMIT) and so many people around me were smoking the green that i accidentally got high. (just a little bit.) then at the end, he brought SNOW out to perform "informer" with him and it was amazing.
i went again in 01 (the phoenix) and again was amazed with the great bf. his piano playing and the general feeling in the crowd is great. he really plays to the audience and you can tell he's having a great time.
the last time i saw him was 06 - again, amazing. i think the greatest part about seeing him live is the audience participation. it's never corny or awkward. he gets the audience to sing backup harmonies and it's really quite beautiful and powerful. you have to be there to understand. the above track sort of gives you an idea of how the shows go.
